Android Applications for an iPhone User

Best Android Applications

Twitter

Twitter is one of the best application that has been made. It is listed in the Top 20 Must-Have Android Applications in the Time Techland (Feb 2011). This application allows users to sign-in with their accounts and post their so-called "tweets". Users can also see their followers' tweets. In my point of view, this application is one of the best application because of its user-friendly interface that enables the users to understand easily the flow of the information, especially the time line. I prefer to use the mobile application rather than the website. It is because in the website, the latest tweets are shown, while in the mobile application tweets are shown starting on the last review that the user had. The review of tweets are viewed from the oldest one to the latest one.

This application is developed by Twitter, Inc. and it is the official application for Twitter. through this appliation, you can know what are the trending topics all over the world. There are also a lot of features in this application, this includes browse interests, fnd & follow friends, tweet, retweet, favorite, direct Message privately with your followers, share photos, videos and web pages, real-time search, view maps, trends, and follow (Android Market, nd).

Slash

Slash was developed by Zuro. It is a game application that aims to cut the wooden board until the bar is fulfilled. However, there are elements inside the board which is called as scarabs. It is necessary to avoid cutting the scarab too along with the wood. Once the bar is fulfilled and no scarabs are damaged, you can now proceed to the next level (Android Market, nd).

This game is also applicable for iPhone. However, the name somehow differs but the concept is the same. I've tried playing this game in Android phones and i still love it as when I played it in my iPhone. Though with the simple user interface, the concept of the game thrills and excites me when I play it. That is why I chose this application to be one of the best.

NinJump

NinJump was developed by one of the Top Developers in Android Application, Backflip Studios Inc. This mobile application is a game that aims to reach the highest possible height through avoiding the enemies like the killer squirrels, angry birds, enemy ninjas, throwing stars and exploding bombs. It has many features such as simple single-tap gameplay, beautiful graphics, challenge a friend, Post scores on Facebook or Twitter.

This game application is one of the best applications that I played because its simple and enjoyable. It has a great graphical user interface that lets the user play it all over again and again. It is not boring and it can also be shared with other friends.

 Worst Android Applications

MyTumblr - Free

MyTumblr is an android mobile application developed by datayeah!. This is Tumblr's microblogging client. It has a lot of features, some of them are Pull to refresh (iphone-like), View your totally integrated dashboard (no mobile web view), Follow or unfollow, Like or reblog posts, Endless scrolling. View all posts in one page, Post ALL types of data and a lot more (Android Market, nd).

I've used MyTumblr for one a couple of days. I am a Tumblr addict in some way that is why I used this application. However, I was disappointed due to the slow loading of images and notes. Especially when the notes get longer, the application cannot load it anymore. The website is more user-friendly than the application. Also, the other users' review said negative things regardint the application such as it force closes after selecting any options.

MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal is a application that helps users to lose weight. This is considered as the best calorie counter for Android. Also, this is also being used by iPhone users. It also has the largest food database among the Android applications that is composed of almost 1,100,000 foods. It has a lot of features such as dieting with friends, barcode scanners for new entries of foods, save and reuse entire meals, 350 types of exercises, enter of own calorie amounts, keeps track of your weight (Android Market, nd)

I knew I needed this once I discovered its purpose. I wanted to lose weight. But I got bored with the first day I used it. In my opinion, there were a lot of complication regarding the user interface that I didn't know what to do. Though with the great reviews of the other users, I had a not-so-good experiences. there were a lot of user inputs that made me lazy to do. Every now and then, you need to input the food and drinks that you had. Maybe I'm just that lazy person that doesn't spend so much time remembering all the things that I had taken and input it in the application.

 Inception: Mobile Architect

Inception: Mobile Architect was developed by Warner Brothers which aims in bending the reality. It has a feature of folding the picture taken with the help of Google Satellite imagery and then mimicking the effect from the movie, Inception.

However, it is considered one of the worst application because the objective of the application is so simple and useless. And the reviews of the users too are negative. The final output is not even cool, as the other users say. The effects of the pictures are also low quality.
